Shepards are back in the field at the Waldo farm, installing the shorter runs of drainage tile. They will probably get finished today. You can see the outlet from Robinson Road, and it is pouring out the water.
Here you see the parallel runs of tile that connect to the main line running from left to right across the southwest side of the field.
Here you see the outlet, with the Waldo field far in the background, over 1000 feet away. Notice that we have seeded the neighbor’s ditch bank and covered the disturbed area with straw mulch netting. That should hold it until new grass growth in the spring.
This is the outlet of 8-inch plastic pipe, and you can see water draining out into the stream. The metal bars inside the pipe prevent an animal from entering the pipe and harming both the animal and the drainage system.
Also, Happy Birthday to the State of Indiana, admitted to the Union on this day in 1816. It was the nineteenth state, but it’s first in our hearts.
