Today, there is some corn going to market at GPC.
The Vision was in the shop yesterday for cleaning and for repairing a flat tire.
I’m going to practice flying the UAV. We got the GoPro camera working on it, controlled through an iPad, but we quickly lose the Wifi connection. We want to find some way to increase the range.
Clint from Hutson, Inc. is here today to perform a PIP (product improvement program) on the S680 combine. He is working on the actuator for the grain tank extension. (those are the wing-like doors at the very top of the combine that open to make the grain tank hold more, and close to provide a cover). He is also replacing some hydraulic valves that regulate the straw chopper/spreader (residue discharge system) on the rear of the combine.
Next project will be getting the corn planter into the shop to replace the opener disk blades. That’ll happen sometime this month.
Chilly today, 23ºF, (-5º), but warmer temps in the upper 40s predicted for the weekend. It may sound crazy, but I’d prefer 20s… with frozen soil, everything stays cleaner!
