MT

Monday, January 26, 2015

We are now officially empty (MT) of soybeans.  We can mark the bin #1A “MT” on the chart.  We were pleased and grateful for the 2014 soybean yields.  The 2014 soybean crops were our best ever– regular and double-crop (DCB).   It is a good feeling to be MT.

But we are not MT of corn; bins 1, 4, 7, 9, 10 and 10A still have various levels of corn stored in them.  The trucks and truckers still have a bunch to deliver.

We have some snow drifting down this afternoon and evening.  It’s turning the roofs and driveways white, but not the grassy areas, not just yet.  I must say I’ve missed the snow this month.   We are not predicted to receive enough tonight to make the roads bad or close school tomorrow.  Nothing like the sensational blizzard predictions for the Northeast!

The snow is just beginning, and already you can see it on the roof .and on the road.

I’m pretty sure we’re going to miss the predictions made last August.  Do you remember the old saying we were told last August 1:  The number of fogs in August is equal to the number of snows in January.  Had that held true, we would have had 10 snow events this month.  In no way will that old lore be fulfilled this month!

Here's the 5pm view out our front door.
