Aerial analysis of crops, part 3

First, let me say “Happy Birthday” to our sister Sheila Hobson!

John flew the drone yesterday over some soybeans that help us feel a little better about the upcoming harvest.  At VanVleet and Dunn he found some pretty good soybeans, both Pioneer 35T58 and Asgrow 3731.

Looking north across the Dunn farm, we are pretty pleased with these Asgrow 3731 soybeans.

Looking east across Dunn, the verdict is the same. It should be a happy harvest time at this location next month.

This is a view of the VanVleet farm location. Petersburg Road runs across the top of the picture, while Black Road runs in the upper right. More Asgrow 3731s.

Also today, some mechanic work is occurring here at the main farm.  In working on the variable-speed system of the cooling fan on the front of the JD 9330 tractor, the mechanic nicked the radiator… It’s now coming out for replacement.  Ouch!  Stuff happens.  It’s a good thing we’re not busy with this tractor right now… it can wait the days until it’s fixed again.

With the hood removed, the JD 9330 will soon have the radiator lifted out.

I spent some time spraying from the Gator this morning, and it’s time to mow the yard.  Bush hog again tomorrow.

Ross and Brandon are competing this week at the Kentucky State Fair in Louisville.
