Drizzly and chilly day

Saturday, October 3, 2015

Rain finally drove us from the soybean field last evening about 7pm.  We removed the headers at the Steimel field, and brought the combines home.  It’s still a bit drizzly this morning, so we are waiting a while to go back to harvesting corn.  Looks like we’ll have to fire up the dryer if we pick corn today.  The wind cuts through your jacket today.

Thursday and Friday were very good ‘bean-cutting’ days.  It was windy and sunny, even if the temperatures were only in the 60s.  Here are some scenes from recent days.

Bill Berry has been a great asset to the team this fall, often arriving extra early to deliver soybeans to ADM on the Ohio River at Newburgh, Indiana.

Perhaps we will change over to harvest corn later today.
